Kids Computers

The Desert Foothills Library was a proud recipient of a prestigious LSTA grant for 2010-2011. The grant awarded by the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Record bestowed monies allotted for 16 new computers and computer stations for the youth of the Library. Along the yellow, east facing wall, you will find eight new computer stations with a printer. Parents and guardians are welcome to join their child while on the computer. Eight Laptops on movable stations were also purchased. This is to allow computer education classes to take place. These computers are also available for check out and are located in the Teen Scene. Ear buds and headphones are recommended and are not available for purchase at this time.



Parent Permission

Children under the age of 18 are required to have a parent/guardian permission slip completed before computer use can take place. If your child became a library patron after August, 2010, then you have most likely already completed the form for your child to have computer access. Please contact the Library’s circulation desk volunteer to inquire about the permission slip. It is easy and takes only minutes to fill out. Once completed, your child will have access to the computers, databases and also the Internet.
